The new Wembley Stadium, the Millennium Stadium, The Gherkin, Cannary wharf are the brainchild of architects. At the other end of the scale, designing a conversion for a small country cottage or a house extension are also challenges for the architect.
Graduate architect jobs open the door to a range of careers which can shape the world that we live in. For the ambitious, the world has an endless apetite for ever more boldy designed structures and buildings. For the more entrepreneurial, a more local architect practice can be a lucrative business to build into the future.
There are over 21,000 architects in the UK generating business worth several billion pounds. To fully qualify as an architect you will need to follow a 5 year degree course followed by two years practical experience within a role. As with many other sectors, large firms will often sponsor graduate architect jobs throughout the qualification period. Having completed this you can then register as an architect with the Architect Registration Board (ARB).
If you're not sure it's worth speaking to someone who is already an architect, or perhaps someone presently in a graduate architect job. If you are about to embark upon 7 years of training, it's worth being sure it's what you want!
