IT Trainer
The job title of IT trainer is not a misleading one, the IT trainer role generally involved designing and delivering training courses in information and communications technology (ICT).
Many IT trainers are self-employed, and this is appears to be a growing trend, although many organisations do like to have an "in house" IT trainer or IT training team. To stand a better chance of landing a permanent IT training role, your likely to be able to demonstrate expertise in more than on area of IT.
IT Training generally falls into two sections: desktop software and technical. Desktop Software training is likely to include training on word processing, databases, e-mail and spreadsheet applications. Technical training is likely to cover areas such as networking and PC hardware.
An IT trainer is responsible for creating and maintaining training material, and planning the best possible way of delivering it. This could involve liaising with external course providers, employers, or even examining bodies.
An IT trainer needs to be confident and have a certain degree of patience and understanding. The training can vary from PC novices to experienced users, so the delivery approach must change accordingly.
